Farewell January 2018 Week 5 Reading Plans

January is coming to a close. It was quite the month, with lots of scary appointments. Also, it was a lot of library adventures, so it evens out pretty nicely. Here are my reading plans for week 5 of January, 2018.

POP SUGAR reading challenge

The Next Book in a Series You Started

Queen of Shadows by Sarah J. Maas is what I managed to hunt down at the library today. I am very excited about it! Yours truly was thrilled to find Empire of Storms while walking down those beautiful library halls/aisle things. AND, I have Assassin’s Blade, too, from the library.

A Book with Alliteration in the Title

Dark Days Club by Alison Goodman is a book I set aside many times for a fun read. But, I keep getting distracted. I’m hoping to give it a shot, poor book. It is definitely something I am into. Here’s hoping I get to it this week. It’s about a Victorian era setting where a girl is killing off demons. Something along the Falconer lines, is what I have gathered.

A Book Set on a Different Planet

These Broken Stars by Amie Kaufman and Megan Spooner is the only one that I have (unread) that fits this prompt. While I am unsure of the specifics of the story, I do know that it is a space-type of story. Close enough, right?

And finally:

I have Wicked Lovely by Melissa Marr from the library too.

Furthermore

I may squeeze in a steampunk novel. Currently, I am torn between Soulless by Gail Carriger and/or Rebel Mechanics by Shanna Swendson

Things are kind of rough these days, so I am hoping to use reading as a coping mechanism. Here’s hoping I can manage my mental health as we ease into February.

Many hugs and well wishes.

The NEWTs readathon has been steadily creeping the bookish web for the past month. As
My first round of booktubeathon went so poorly that I am in need of trying

  1. Hope February is good for you! It’s always nice to find a nice fat fantasy novel- glad to hear you found some good stuff at the library. 🙂 These Broken Stars doesn’t sound bad- hope that’s good too.

    1. Thanks, Greg. Yeah, I am in need of taking a break from the library because it does bad things to my anxiety. Still, it was nice to read some nice books (and cross off some books I was curious about). Ah, I need to read a fat fantasy book. Or, like, many of them. There’s tons of them on my TBR shelves (oh yeah. It’s plural).
