The Art of Selling Out and Changing Directions

I have been blogging since 2012. Granted, there were dry spells between months (yep. Months!). For the most part, my isolation and ignorance of how the internet works led to a lack of motivation. Plus, mental illness was #winning.

But, things are about to change.

“Selling Out”

I am looking into affiliates, sponsored posts, and an overall expanding of what I share here. Naturally, I will give you warnings before you click on anything that you do not feel comfortable with. I am learning more about ways to not make my own money-making-thing annoying for you as well.

When I say I’m selling out, I mean that in a joking manner. I do not plan on compromising my values just to make a quick buck. But, there is a part of me that is concerned with how people may perceive the changes to come.  There will be plenty of mulling things over. Give it time and trust the process. Eventually, I’ll figure out a balance of how these things can work for my blog.

Times are Changing

My experience with mental illness makes it hard to read regularly. Thus, my posts are going to be more varied. I want to share new things I am learning through articles and videos, pictures, memes, you name it. My aim is to include thought-provoking posts that are corresponding with relevant info to my life (and hopefully yours).

How You Can Help

Recently, I created a contact form on the site, which you can use to give me a shout in private.  I’ll try to incorporate polls to get a feel for what you’re thinking as well (I mean. I hope to learn how to put those on here).

Finally, I want to do more guest posts. If you have an event or need someone to fill in, I am here to write entries for your lovely blogs. If my mental health is in a fairly decent space, I am down to participate more in the bookish and personal development communities (among other things).

  1. Good luck with the changes! I’ve been blogging since 2005, and I’ve had a few different blogs, so I know about changing directions. I’ve also “sold out” and put ads on my site. Blogging is a lot of work. I feel like I should get some reward for it.

  2. Awesome news D! You do what’s right for you cariad! (Don’t get frustrated if it takes ages to make money though – trust me! On the other hand, if you do it quick & easy then help a girl out and let her know how?! Lol!)
