TTT: Top Ten Authors I’m Dying To Meet

Welcome to another top ten Tuesday! This week’s topic is the top ten authors I am dying to meet. Before I delve into the list, let me first mention that this top ten series is a meme. It is run by The Broke and the Bookish.

First, I wouldn’t really like to meet any writer face to face. My anxiety wouldn’t let me settle down. And, I know manic episodes would be triggered by it, too.

But, this is a list in a dream-land, where I can manage to talk to authors I like.

Let’s begin.

10. Leigh Bardugo

I like this lady a lot. Her writing is easy to follow, interesting, and charming. In interviews, she is fierce and passionate about her characters. And, I already want to thank her for Nina and Inej, even without reading Six of Crows yet.

Wait till I read that duology.

MUCH EXCITE!

9. Anna Marie McLemore

She is the sweetest lady and she’s congratulated me on coming out as aro ace. Her books are all about brown people and the magic in reality. So, so, beautiful.

Maybe she can give me hair growth tips. And writing magic potions. I’d like that a lot.

8. V.E. Schwab

Come on. The woman is a genius. Someone has to tell her.

7. Morgan Matson

She is the CUTEST lady ever. I love her books, and she seems to be the most fun person ever. We could be friends, and drink sweet tea together. I could puppy sit for her.  And, like, we can frolic around our neighborhoods.

But, I would not tell her that I have only read Since You’ve Been Gone and Amy and Roger’s Epic Detour.

Deception.

Dun dun dun.

6. Sarah Rees Brennan

THIS LADY is so nice, funny, and creative. I have only read her first trilogy, but I managed to get her books over the years. I will be reading the rest of her stuff soon. I pray that she feels better, and can write some more.

LEAVE HER ALONE, CANCER! SHE’S AMAZING AND WE NEED HER HERE ON EARTH.

5. Holly Black

She writes the best fairy books (okay, they are super dark, but I love them). I adore this woman because she writes really well, and she is probably one of the coolest ladies out there.

Can I be her friend?

4. Cassandra Clare

I would just flail in front of her, because she writes the most diverse casts of characters. And, her writing is basically goals. Like the whole time, I’m just whispering, GOALS!

3. Maggie Stiefvater

Because she’s brilliant, I’d probably gape at her the whole time. I’d just like her to share her writing process, and maybe we can have writing parties together. By party, I mean, just us in our pajamas on our laptops.

2. Roshani Chokshi

Another very sweet lady, who just inspires me to write more brown peeps and share the traditions and culture I have grown up with. I haven’t read her books yet, but oh my goodness, she is the most clever and sweet woman from the interviews I have seen of her.

2.b. Renee Ahdieh

Her writing is just amazing, and it features people of color. So talented.

 1. Tahereh Mafi

I’d just like to give her a hug, and a thank you, for embracing her faith so openly. We share the same faith. She gives me a writing inspiration. I can only hope to write happy stories. I don’t think it’s possible for me to do that, but I can dream, right? And, she gave me the courage to fully embrace my faith and cultures.

    1. Yay! Stiefvater’s name is a challenge for me to spell. But, I am trying to learn it, I swear. Stiefvater. Anyway, I am glad you got me started on these Top Ten Tuesday topics.

  1. SO MANY GREAT BOOKS! I absolutely love the Six of Crows duology and would love to meet Leigh Bardugo as well. Same goes for Tahereh Mafi and her Shatter Me trilogy. 🙂 Thanks for sharing and, as always, fabulous post! <3

  2. I get that there’s a huge possibility of anxiety at actually meeting people you admire! I’m awkward enough with authors online… *face palms*

I have met one amazing author/graphic novelist though – James O’Barr, who wrote The Crow. Intense dude, but I’m soooooo glad me and the Bestie got the chance to have our picture taken with him! 🙂

    1. Aww. It’s nice that you and your bestie got to share that experience. Sweet. As for awkwardness, yes! I don’t even talk to authors that much because my anxiety is intense-pants for me. I don’t want to increase it!
